When I start up it seems like forever before the computer is ready to go. It is not unusual for it to be 20 minutes before I'm ready. How do I determine what I need to keep as part of my start up and how to eliminate those I do not need automatically started?

Guest It all depends on what software needs to be loaded. From there, choose which ones you done care about and tell it to stop running from startup.

You may want to run a defrag and registry cleaner. Also run a virus scan to make sure there are no viruses.
